According to the state's CIO Craig Orgeron, since the state’s E-Government program started in 2011, the state has saved roughly $1 million each year in infrastructure, payment processing and website maintenance, such as the state’s ms.gov portal.
In addition, citizens are increasingly accessing ms.gov from mobile devices, and in 2013, the state launched
six mobile apps to take advantage of that.
