CEU - Continuing Education Units
One CEU is equal to 50 minutes contact (clock) time. Twenty-four CEUs are required over the two year reporting period as a condition for renewal.

Certificate of Standing
A Certificate of Standing documents the status of your license in the State of Mississippi. This form replaces the previously issued 'Wallet Card'.

Emeritus
The status assigned when one has retired from Active practice of Architecture or Landscape Architecture and is at least 65 years of age.

Individual License
An official license issued by the Board recognizing the individual named as meeting the requirements for licensure under Section 73-1-1 of the Mississippi Code.

Landscape Architecture Advisory Committee
The Landscape Architecture Advisory Committee to the Board of Architecture, referred to as "the Committee". This Committee reviews all reciprocal license applications and applications for reinstatement for eligibility and possible approval. The office of the Committee is located at:

Mandatory Continuing Education Program
The Mandatory Continuing Education Program allows licensees to remain informed of those technical and professional subjects the Board/Committee deems appropriate to safeguard life and health and promote the public welfare.

Mississippi Board of Architecture
The Mississippi Board of Architecture is the legal authority responsible for the examination, registration and discipline of Architects practicing in the State of Mississippi. The office of the Board is located at:

Notice of Registration
The official notice mailed to an applicant by the Board/Committee advising the applicant of his/her license number, date of approval, and license expiration date.

Reinstatement
An Architect or Landscape Architect license may be reinstated after such license has lapsed. The Board or Committee must review all applications for reinstatement to verify the applicant's eligibility. When submitting an application for reinstatement, the Architect or Landscape Architect may be requested to provide additional information needed for the review process to be completed.

Renewal
All licenses must be renewed every two years. The renewal process is available during specific dates for Architects and Landscape Architects.

For Architects, the Renewal Period is October 1 through November 30 of each odd year. The Renewal Period with Penalty is December 1 each odd year through November 30 of the next odd year. A penalty of $5.00 per month will be charged for each month past November 30 of the year the license expires.

For Landscape Architects, the Renewal Period is October 1 through December 31 each odd year. The Renewal Period with Penalty is January 1 each odd year through June 1 of the next year (the year after license expiration). A penalty of $5.00 per month will be charged for each month past December 31 of the year the license expires.

The frameable certificate mailed to Architects and Landscape Architects by the Board/Committee at the conclusion of the registration process.
