As of June 23, 2025, federal mandates will prevent Mississippi from accepting physical or scanned copies of Medical Certificate forms (MCSA-5876). On June 13, 2025, this CDL Medical Card Submission functionality will be retired. Our DL station examiners will not be able to accept a paper copy after June 20th, 2025.
Going forward, your federally certified Medical Examiner is required to submit the results of your physical exam electronically to FMCSA’s National Registry. Mississippi in turn must obtain the results of this physical exam electronically from the Registry and post it directly to your driver record.
Your Medical Examiner is required to submit the results of your physical exam directly to the Registry within 48 hours. Please ensure that sufficient time has passed before attempting to obtain a credential because, if these results have not been loaded yet, Mississippi will be required to reject your request at that time.
For more information about these requirements, please log onto the FMCSA’s National Registry website (https://nationalregistry.fmcsa.dot.gov/home) .
