Welcome to the Mississippi Museum Of Natural Science Camp Registration


PreK camp is a partial-day, drop-off camp perfectly designed for inquisitive and active 3 and 4-year-old minds! Together, the "Fox Kits" will explore the Museum, trails, and playground. Each day will include outdoor adventures, an encounter with a live animal, crafts, games and activities, and a fun story. In a guided and creative setting, children discover how exciting and fun the great outdoors can be! No food will be provided during camp. Please send campers with a snack and a reusable water bottle daily. All campers MUST be potty trained.

Spotter's Discovery Camp is a full-day camp for rising Kindergarteners who love to explore! Together, the "Bear Cubs", will adventure through the Museum, nature trails, playground, and wetlands. Each day includes lots of outdoor exploration, live animal encounters, crafts, games and activities, and a fun story time. No food will be provided during camp. Please send campers with lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.

Together, the "Turtles" will explore wetlands, hike trails, make crafts, play fun summer games, and encounter native wildlife with museum educators! No food will be provided. Spotter's Discovery Camp for rising 3rd and 4th-grade students is a day camp for children to dive into wet and wild outdoor exploration! This "Otters" group will engage in activities such as forest and wetland exploration, make crafts, encounter native wildlife, and play fun summer games! No food will be provided. Please send campers with lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.

Spotter's Discovery Camp for rising 5th and 6th-grade students is an adventurous day camp for children to soar through fun nature activities! This "Eagles" group will have the opportunity to hike trails, explore wetlands, learn canoeing and archery techniques, make crafts, and experience various encounters with native wildlife. The Eagles will also have an opportunity to participate in an overnight campout at the museum on the last day of camp! No food will be provided. Please send campers with lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.

Spotter's Discovery Splash camp is for students in first through fourth grade who enjoy water play and adventure. Each day we will be learning about the properties of water through play and experimentation. Come prepared to have a wet and wild summer full of playful science adventures. No food will be provided during camp. Please send campers in water clothes, close-toed shoes, with a snack and a reusable water bottle.

Spotter's Discovery Art in Nature Camp will explore the exciting world of art and creativity through a wide range of multi-media activities. We will learn to investigate our surroundings while recognizing the fundamentals of art as they appear in nature. Line, shape, color, and texture will be the four daily topics. Nature will be our inspiration. This half-day camp is designed for the inquisitive minds of children grades 1st-3rd. Please send campers a snack and reusable water bottle daily.

JR. Naturalist Camp is an intensive outdoor camp for youth going into seventh through eighth grade. Camp runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day with the last day having an overnight field trip at Percy Quinn State Park. These outdoor enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the outdoors with state biologists and educators while learning about ecology and conservation. Jr. Naturalists will have the ultimate camp experience hiking, collecting, exploring, swimming, and canoeing while making new friends.

Field Camp is an ecology-based camp that focuses on the identification and conservation of our native species, as well as, exploring different career opportunities in the fields of conservation and research for students entering Grades 9-12. Camp begins on Monday and will last until Friday morning. This week of camp consists of days with research scientists learning hands-on, real-world skills in different scientific areas such as biology, herpetology, ichthyology, geology, and paleontology. We spend time hiking, seining for fish, digging for fossils and learning about the unique ecosystems of Mississippi. Each year, for this camp we travel to a different area of the state to get a first-hand look at what is happening in the environment through the lens of science. This year we will be traveling to the MS Gulf Coast for our overnight, Monday- Friday camp. We will kayak/canoe, camp, as well as many other outdoor activities. This camp is not for the faint of heart, however it is truly a one-of-a-kind camp and will give you a new perspective of what true scientists do daily.

Museum Camp at Lake Lamar Bruce in Saltillo, MS. will engage campers in hands-on activities designed to increase outdoors skills and foster a love of nature. Activities will include fishing, hiking, survival skills, birding, and more. There will be hands on lessons in forestry, herpetology, water ecology, and animal tracking. This is a day camp with an optional overnight campout. Camp will begin at 800am. Drop off may begin at 745am. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, pick up is at 330pm. Friday is an optional overnight campout by the lake and camp begins at 5pm. Each camper must have an adult to spend the night. Campers who choose not to spend the night but wish to participate in night activities can be picked up at 930pm (or earlier by arrangement). On Saturday, camp ends around 9am. The only food provided will be dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning. Please send campers with a lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle daily.
