This project will involve scouts learning about the biology and care of several native MS species. Scouts will assist Museum Conservation Educators and Aquarists in feeding, cleaning, and general care of Museum animals. For this workshop, only participating scouts are allowed in the class.
Join us Dec 17 for a fun, outdoor trek along the nature trails here at the Natural Science Museum. This workshop is for Cadette Girl Scouts and will meet the requirements for the Eco Trekker badge (must be purchased separately). During our trek we will be looking for several key species and learning how to minimize our impact to the environment. Through fun games and activities, we will learn how to conserve and protect Mississippi's native plants and animals. Please bring scouts in weather appropriate clothing. This will be an outdoor workshop.
Join us January 28th for a fun and brain teasing wildlife mystery. This workshop is for Junior Girl Scouts and will meet requirements for the Detective badge (to be purchased separately). Scouts will be tasked with solving a wildlife, who-dun- it type mystery using clues, tracks, and scat!
Join us March 10th for a nature play day that earns Brownie Scouts their Outdoor Adventure badge (must be purchased separately). During this workshop we will go on a wildlife scavenger hunt, play several wildlife themed games, and build birdfeeders.
