- DESCRIPTION: "Project WET: Out of the Classroom, Into the WATER!" is a two-day, hands-on teacher workshop that takes learning beyond the classroom and into the natural world. Through engaging Project WET activities, educators will explore how water shapes ecosystems, supports life, and connects communities-all while getting a chance to learn outside with museum educators and biologists! Teachers will learn how to use the resources right outside their schools to bring water education to life. This workshop emphasizes helping students make real-world connections to water, whether they live near a lake, pond, stream or ditch. By the end of the workshop, teachers will leave equipped with ready-to-use lessons, outdoor teaching strategies, and renewed confidence to turn nearby water sources into meaningful learning experiences for their students. Each participant will receive a Project WET activity guide and 1.0 CEU available upon completion.
- NOTE: This workshop takes place over two days and includes a variety of outdoor activities, including field research. Please be sure to bring a reusable water bottle and wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for outdoor field activities. We recommend long pants and closed-toe shoes.
