  • DESCRIPTION: Project WET, Project WILD, and Project Learning Tree join forces to bring educators a unique professional development experience like no other! Engage in fun, interactive activities from award winning education programs WET, WILD, and PLT and learn how to incorporate them into your classroom curriculum. As a bonus, participants will get to tour the ELC and enjoy fishing, guided tours of the gardens, creature features with native wildlife, and nature trails! Registration also includes an activity guide and lunch each day. This workshop will take place at the JPS Environmental Learning Center, located at 6190 MS-18 Jackson, MS. Participants who attend both days of the workshop will have the opportunity to earn 1.6 CEUs at an additional fee of $30.

  • DESCRIPTION: Join us for Wild & Spooky, a hands-on Project WILD Professional Development, where we explore the mysterious, misunderstood, and "creepy-crawly" side of native wildlife. Discover how to use bats, spiders, snakes, owls, and other nocturnal creatures to teach core concepts in adaptation, food webs, and habitat conservation. Participants will experience interactive activities from the Project WILD curriculum that you can take straight back to your classroom just in time for fall. Teachers are welcome to bring up to two children to participate alongside them (1st-6th grade). Curriculum: Every participant receives the official Project WILD guide. Lunch: Participants should bring a sack lunch for a mid-day break. CEUs: .5 CEU credit hours available
