  • DESCRIPTION: B.A.T.S. is a brand new workshop that teaches all about the bats of Mississippi. We will learn the basics about Mississippi's bat populations and where they live, play some games you can play with students to simulate life as a bat, and discuss white nose syndrome and other threats that bats face. We'll also participate in a field experience simulation in which we will set up mist nets and, catch some "bats" and process them just like our bat biologists! We'll also include a craft or two that you can bring back to your classroom. Upon completion you will be confident in teaching your students about an important Mississippi group of species that your students will be curious to learn about: bats
