  • DESCRIPTION: Rediscover the joy of childhood wonder and learn to nurture it in your students! This "Growing Up Wild" workshop delves into creating dynamic, nature-based experiences that encourage children to be wild and free in their exploration and learning. We'll explore how to leverage children's natural curiosity and boundless energy to foster a deep connection with the outdoors. Come ready to play, observe, and learn practical strategies for bringing the magic of the wild into your early childhood education classroom. Things to know: Please come in comfortable clothes and shoes-we will be outside for several of the activities. Teachers will need to bring a lunch and water bottle. Bug spray and sunscreen recommended. This workshop is 5 hours long and worth .5 CEUs

  • DESCRIPTION: STEAM Ahead with Project WILD! is an engaging, environmental education workshop that supports Kindergarten through 12th grade education. Formal and non-formal educators will learn science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics content in collaboration with activities that focus on environmental education that will assist learners in developing knowledge, awareness and appreciation for their natural environment.

  • DESCRIPTION: Project Learning Tree, an initiative that focuses on helping teachers incorporate environmental education into their classroom. This workshop will show participants one of the resource materials, Explore Your Environment: K-8 Activity Guide, that PLT offers and how participants can incorporate the activities from the guide into their classrooms. This is provided by the Mississippi Forestry Association and the Mississippi branch of Project Learning Tree.
