Summary

A legislator may not have an interest in a contract with a local school district which is funded by legislative appropriation. However, a contract with a school district in which a legislator has an interest will not violate Section 109, Miss. Const. of 1890, or Section 25-4-105(2), Miss. Code of 1972, if it is entirely funded with money which has not been appropriated by the Legislature.
