The Mississippi Board of Nursing is a Mississippi state agency charged with protecting the public through the regulation of the practice of nursing within the state. As part of its responsibilities, the Board implements the Mississippi Nurse Practice Law by issuing rules and regulations through the Administrative Code. The Board's law and code provide minimum qualifications for licensure, define fundamentals for scope of practice, and provides disciplinary processes all in the interest of public protection. The Board grants licenses to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses (RNs), advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), and certified clinical hemodialysis technicians (CCHTs).

The Board does not enforce laws and rules pertaining to nursing education, other healthcare professions, or healthcare facilities. Visit Related Organizations for other healthcare regulatory agencies.
