Mississippi Teacher Loan Repayment Program


Teachers holding a valid Alternative Route Teaching license, teaching full time in a geographical shortage area or a geographical subject area 100% of the day in a Mississippi public school and have not received funding through the Critical Needs Teacher Loan/Scholarship Programs (CNTP & CNAR) and William Winter Teacher Scholar Loan Program (WWTS & WWAR), may qualify to receive loan forgiveness through the Mississippi Teacher Loan Repayment program (MTLR).

The MTLR program pays up to $3,000 per year for a maximum of four years on outstanding qualifying undergraduate educational loans per year of teaching in a critical geographical or subject area. Perkins loans and graduate level loans do not qualify for loan forgiveness through the MTLR program.

Please note: Selection shall be made on a first-come, first-serve basis of all eligible applicants who apply by the deadline date of March 31.
