Governor

Tate Reeves

Tate Reeves is the 65th Governor of Mississippi, bringing experience from a long career in public service, including prior roles as State Treasurer and Lieutenant Governor. Since taking office, he has overseen responses to significant challenges, including corrections system reform, agency accountability issues, natural disasters, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Reeves has focused on economic development, tax reform, education improvement, and state financial stability. His tenure has included initiatives to reduce state income tax, expand classroom investment, and enhance agency transparency.

Lieutenant Governor

Delbert Hosemann

Delbert Hosemann is serving his second term as Mississippi’s 33rd Lieutenant Governor, having been re-elected in 2023 with over 60 percent of the vote. A former Secretary of State and practicing tax lawyer, Hosemann has prioritized issues such as government transparency, infrastructure, education, and economic development. During his tenure, the state has enacted significant legislation including a large teacher pay raise, tax reform, and infrastructure investments. He has also been involved in efforts to consolidate workforce programs, reform school funding, and reduce state debt.

Secretary of State

Michael Watson

Michael Watson is currently in his second term as Mississippi’s 36th Secretary of State. Since taking the oath of office at the outset of his tenure, Secretary Watson has launched numerous initiatives and expanded existing efforts. From strengthening the integrity of Mississippi’s elections process through legislation, to reducing the regulatory burden on businesses with the award-winning Tackle the Tape initiative and safeguarding the state’s natural resources through the assembly of the Conservation Task Force, Secretary Watson has worked to serve all Mississippians. 

Attorney General

Lynn Fitch

Lynn Fitch is serving her second term as Mississippi’s 40th Attorney General and is the first woman to hold the position in the state’s history. With more than 35 years of legal experience in both public service and private practice, she began her career as a Special Assistant Attorney General and later served as State Treasurer, Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board, and in various other government roles. A graduate of the University of Mississippi with degrees in business and law, Fitch has also held leadership positions in national legal and financial associations.

State Auditor

Shad White

Shad White was appointed the 42nd State Auditor of Mississippi by Governor Phil Bryant in July 2018. Before becoming Auditor, White served as Director of the Mississippi Justice Institute, a conservative public interest law institute. White has also practiced law in the private sector, served as a special prosecutor, and taught as an adjunct professor. The son of an oilfield pumper and school teacher, White grew up in rural Jones County and went on to earn degrees from Ole Miss, the University of Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and Harvard Law School. Today, he and his wife Rina live in Rankin County and attend St. Richard Church.

State Treasurer

David McRae

Elected in 2019, David McRae is Mississippi’s 55th Treasurer. The Treasurer's primary responsibility is to manage the cash flow that keeps state agencies operating on a daily basis. McRae has prioritized the distribution of unclaimed property, returning millions of dollars during his first year in office. McRae also oversees College Savings Mississippi, helping lift the financial burden of a college education for thousands of young people. Prior to serving as State Treasurer, McRae earned his law degree from Mississippi College, where he served as Chief Justice of the Honor Court.

Commissioner of Agriculture

Andy Gipson

Andy Gipson serves as Mississippi’s eighth Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce. Since 2018, Gipson has toured all 82 counties to hear directly from farmers about their challenges and opportunities. He launched the Genuine MS® branding initiative to increase public awareness of Mississippi’s farm, food, crafted, and fabricated products. Gipson created the “County Correspondents” program to share MDAC updates and gather input from local farmers, and launched the Agricultural Workforce Development initiative to connect future leaders to careers in agriculture.

Commissioner of Insurance

Mike Chaney

Mike Chaney is serving his fifth term as Mississippi’s 11th Commissioner of Insurance and State Fire Marshal, bringing decades of experience in both business and public service, including 15 years in the Mississippi Legislature. Since first being elected in 2007, he has focused on consumer protection, technological modernization, healthcare reform, disaster recovery, and fire safety. An active participant in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, he contributes to a range of policy areas including health insurance, senior issues, and catastrophe response.
