Interior Designer - Certification Paths

1.
Complete the online Mississippi Application for Certification and pay the application fee.
2.
Complete a request and pay the prescribed fee for the CIDQ transmittal of your examination record to the Board.
3.
You will be notified by email of any questions or if additional information is needed.
4.
You will be notified by U.S. Postal Mail if and when your certification is approved.

Apply to CIDQ in order to take the exam.
2.
After successful completion of the NCIDQ Examination, complete a request and pay the prescribed fee for the CIDQ transmittal of your examination record to the Board.
3.
Submit an official copy of your university or college transcript to Board (must be an official copy submitted to the Board directly from the university or college). The education must be verified through CIDQ as meeting the CIDQ education requirement. The transcript should be sent to the Board, 2 Professional Parkway #2B, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or by email to msboa@msboa.ms.gov.

Applicants who meet the CIDQ education requirements of 40 semester hours/60 quarter hours in interior design education, which culminated in a degree, must apply directly to CIDQ for examination.

After successful completion of the NCIDQ Examination, complete a request and pay the prescribed fee for the CIDQ transmittal of your examination record to the Board.
3.
Submit an official copy of your university or college transcript to Board (must be an official copy submitted to the Board directly from the university or college). OR

Applicants who do not meet the CIDQ education requirement must meet the Mississippi requirements for admittance to the NCIDQ Examination. Upon qualification by Board, CIDQ will admit the applicant to the NCIDQ Examination.

2.
Submit proof of licensure as an architect or professional engineer to the Board, such as a wallet card or certificate of standing. Send the proof of licensure to the Board, 2 Professional Parkway #2B, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or by email to msboa@msboa.ms.gov.
3.
Contact the Board regarding the required proof of experience. Applicants must provide the Board with sufficient proof that the applicant has acquired 5,280 hours of qualified interior designer experience per CIDQ experience requirements.
4.
You will be notified if and when you have been admitted to the NCIDQ Examination.
5.
After successful completion of the NCIDQ Examination, complete a request and pay the prescribed fee for the CIDQ transmittal of your examination record to the Board.
6.
You will be notified by email of any questions or if additional information is needed.
7.
You will be notified by U.S. Postal Mail if and when your certification is approved.
